The New Porsche 911 Unveiling | Event

The newly redesigned Porsche 911 was unveiled at New Country Porsche in Greenwich, CT Saturday afternoon. Porsche hosted over 150 guests for the event which not only featured the all new Porsche launch, but all of their current models as well. The event was the perfect time for those interested in learning more about the new 911 to ask the knowledgeable staff at New Country Porsche questions and, best of all, to finally see the beautiful new machine in it's flesh.

This was truly a great event. Greco's Bella Cucina supplied top notch cuisine and drinks, while Porsche supplied the beautiful new 911's and the venue. What more could you ask for than a beautiful afternoon surrounded by your family, friends, beautiful new Porsches, excellent food and the great team of guys at New Country Porsche...

We are looking forward to working with Porsche in the future. A full shoot of the New 911 is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. Stay tuned!

The bond shared between sisters is truly something special. It's something that can be felt, written about and even told. It's not often that you can see this bond with your very own eyes... that is until now. When I first spoke to these sisters, I explained that I wanted to capture who they were as individuals, but after working with them for a minutes that all changed. My goal became to capture the love and emotion that is shared between them. I had an awesome time working with the Yocher's and feel that these photos really capture the bond held between these lovely sisters.

Nina was surrounded by her closest friends and family as they truly rocked out in style! I am so happy to have been a part of Nina's celebration! What can I say, Janeen and Steve have an awesome little boy Anthony. He's handsome, well behaved, smart, fun, pretty much everything you could ask for in a son. I shot Janeen and Steve's Engagement photos a couple of months back and we planned to do a separate session to incorporate their son Anthony. We hoped to shoot the family session in warmer weather, but with the temperature in the low 20's we decided to go for it and shoot indoors. I am glad we just went for it and planned a little impromptu shoot at the Sports Center of Connecticut in Shelton. Steve's father engineered the massive sports complex, so I found it pretty cool to shoot in a place that they were connected to. As always, it was fun working with you guys!

Portia Vs. T-Rex

I have a "no stuffed toy" rule for Portia, but as they say rules are meant to be broken... So, for Christmas my friend purchased a 2 foot tall stuffed T-Rex for Portia... Let's just say Portia loves her gift! I couldn't resist taking a few photos of Portia with her new friend/nemesis "Dino". =)

I want to take a moment to thank all of my friends, family and wonderful clients for making 2011 such a great year. With Christmas right around the corner I am looking forward to spending time with loved ones, and enjoying some great home cooked cuisine!

Rich + Sue | Surprise Proposal

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a close friend of mine (Rich) proposal / engagement. We came up with a bit of a plan and executed it perfectly. At times it felt a bit like controlled chaos, but it went very well. Sue said "YES!" and the photos, well as Rich put it are "PRICELESS". I am so happy to have been a part of it all. It really meant a lot to me and I am glad that I was able to capture such an awesome moment in their lives with photos, a time that is often times just a memory (but a happy one at that!). Rich / Sue, these are begging to be on large stretched canvas!!!! Hahaha, Enjoy and Congratulations once again!

Dani and James totally lucked out with a beautiful February day! Yes the ground was a bit wet from the 4 feet of snow we had just months before, but that didn't come between the couple and them having an absolutely beautiful wedding... The couple chose to have their ceremony at a beautiful nature reserve in Westport, CT. The spot was perfect! It boasted great water views, great detail and nautical character... Meet the Wehr Family from Stamford! What a great bunch =) I actually met Karmell on a shoot for "work". She asked if I did family and kid photos so I gave her a card. One day my phone rang and Karmell was on the other end of the line. She was ready for some family photos now that her son Abe was about 5 to 6 weeks old. So, with a few hours to spare on a Saturday afternoon we got together and had a little family session. I love the personality and excitement in these photos! Enjoy!

I remember at one point in my career I said that I did not want to do kid and family portraits... Well I lied! I absolutely love photographing babies, kids and families! I think it was the thought of being stuck in a studio taking cookie cutter type photos that got me down... BUT that is not what I do. I approach babies, kids and families very different than most. I capture who they are, how they are and where they are. I make the little things that feel important, appear that way. I capture love in my photos, something that isn't even visible! Wow, I love what I do and when working with a family such as the McAdams, my job is quite easy to do. Jennifer and Chris truly love their beautiful little girl Aurora. I mean all parents love their kids, but just watching them with her... it was beautiful. Congrats you two on having such a beautiful little girl and a wonderful family!

Veronica | 70th Birthday

Veronica is the matriarch of her family. Her hard work and determination brought to fruition her dream of raising a family in the United States. Veronica is originally from Jamaica. She is responsible for moving to the US and raising her family here. What a wonderful, loving family they are. In the few hours that I was with them, stories were told, dances were dances, hugs and kisses were given and a true celebration of all of Veronica's great deeds was had. Veronica is truly someone special, not only to her family, but to all of her friends and colleagues that she has met throughout her life. She continues to touch the lives of those around her everyday. I am so happy that she truly enjoyed time with her family and friends and man can she still dance!

Sharon + Shawn | Wedding

Sharon and Shawn really rocked the castle! The focus at this wedding was not only on the wedding couple, but on family. There was such a warm feeling of love throughout the day. I have never photographed a larger family on a wedding day... At one point I think there were over 60 people in one shot! St. Clements Castle was truly a lovely venue, from the sunken garden ceremony to the beautiful courtyards and ball room, this place had a lot to offer and Sharon and Shawn truly used every square foot of it. Hannah + James | Wedding

Hannah and James have to be two of the sweetest people I have ever met. Their love for one another is an inspiration to all that meet them and I'm sure to those that will be viewing the photos below. Hannah and James had a great wedding. The only thing that Hannah had reservations about was the fact that it was raining. I told her not to worry and that the rain would only add to her day. Well, it sure did... After a wonderful ceremony and fun filled reception we headed out into the rain for some fun shots. This is where the magic happened. It was only after Hannah saw the photos taken in the rain on my camera that she cried tears of joy and said... "Oh my God Dave, those pictures are beautiful... What amazing photos! I am so glad it rained on my wedding day!!!". I had a blast you two! And remember, rain on your big day isn't the worst thing that could happen... It could even be one of the best. Enjoy the photos.

Nathan | Kid Portraits

I was contacted by my friends and clients Marissa and Brian whose wedding I shot in 2009. I had also done a Maternity session with the couple and it only seemed natural that I take photos of their baby boy at the hospital and later at their home when he was a few months older. Saturday, I spent the evening with two very awesome people Ashley and Russ. I always wanted to get a bride in this case a wife to an amusement park for photos and that is just what we did. For their first year anniversary Ashley and Russ had me photograph them eating their cake topper where they actually bought their cake Cornerstone Caterers in Rye, NY (www.cornerstonecaterers.com) we then visited their wedding venue the Wainright House (www.wainwright.org) and took some photos on the beautiful grounds there, but that's not all... As the sun was coming down we went over to a beach for a few shots and then last but not least Ashley got into her BEAUTIFUL vintage inspired wedding dress and we went picture crazy at Playland Amusement Park in NY (www.RyePlayland.org). Michelle and Rob tied the knot at the Guilford Yacht Club on May 8th. After waking up to some severe thunderstorms we were delighted to see that Michelle and Rob did in fact end up having perfect weather on their wedding day. Charles Rochlin | Funeral with Full Military Honors

Yesterday morning I received a call and was asked to shoot a funeral of a young man that died tragically. Charles Rochlin, 24, of Westport, CT died last Sunday as a passenger in a car accident. He is a Marine who had days before spent time in Iraq serving our country and was scheduled to deploy overseas again shortly after the New Year. I personally have never shot a funeral, let alone one of a young man that in his 24 years of life had done so much and died so suddenly... I approached the assignment with care and compassion and set out to capture the service honoring such a courageous individual as it unfolded in front of my eyes.

My condolences go out to Charley's family, friends and fellow soldiers.

Chelsea & Jess | Sisters

Last night I had the chance to work with a couple of my favorite clients and friends Chelsea, Jess and Nick... Jess had called me a few days before and asked if I could fit her into my "busy schedule" for a portrait session for herself, sister Chelsea and fiance Nick. After shooting Jess and Nick's E-Session over the summer and really getting to know the couple I was looking forward to working with them and Jess's sister Chelsea as well.

It was great to see Chelsea and Jess (and Nick) connect on the fun, high energy level that they did... I think it is great for families to come together and have fun photos to look back on in the future. Here are a few of the shots.

Doggies at the beach | Pet Photography

Today I took my Rotties Portia and CoCo for a ride and since the weather was so mild I somehow ended up at Compo Beach in Westport. As I pull into my parking space I notice out of the corner of my eye, not one, not two, but three other Rottweilers on the beach! Now to you this might not mean much, but as a Rottweiler owner this was a very exciting thing! I hardly ever see other Rottweilers out on walks or at parks, etc. so when I do it is an exciting time. I had a great time with all of the pups, including the very cute Havanese puppy "Mr. Jet", his owner and Rachel, her friend (trainer) and 3 Rotts!
